Is Puerto Rico Safe to travel?

First of all let me start with the fact that i live in Puerto Rico, born and raised here, now i know that recently Puerto Rico has got some bad rep but in general Life in Puerto Rico is not like many media outlets has pinned it out to be.

Sure Puerto Rico can be dangerous in some instances like any other place, but it's all about being careful where you walk or go to and what time you do that also. Now that being said Puerto Rico is a beautiful place to live and vacation in we have beautiful beaches and great nature spots to hang out, and for most people that is perfect now there are places that are of the beaten path and they are beautiful now i don't recommend you do that unless you have a group and at least a tour guide Puerto Rico is a small island compared to the states but you can get lost easy we have tons of roads, although GPS can be of great help.

In my opinion Puerto Rico in general is a safe place to have fun enjoy a warm crispy tan in our welcoming climate, but be safe always follow safety guidelines given to you by your resort, don't go wandering late at night that can be dangerous especially if you don't know your surroundings.

So please be happy, enjoy life and come to the best weather in the US(yes we are part of the US a territory but that means you come here without passport), hope you enjoy your vacation in Puerto Rico.
